More about why injectables further down on this page.

After the injection, the treated area may show a slight redness, swelling or bruising. Your doctor will advise you about this. Do not worry, these side effects will disappear and from 12 hours after the treatment you can hide them with your usual makeup. If these reactions do last more than a week, which is unlikely, or if you experience any other side effects, please contact your doctor. With each injection into the skin, there is a small risk of infection.

The duration of the effect of the (non-permanent) products differs. The result of a botulinum injection is 3-6 months for cosmetic application, and 3-12 months for medical application. The cosmetic result with a filler is dependent on the speed that the body breaks down the filler and by what kind of filler is used. The result can differ from one person to another. Usually the effect of fillers is 6-18 months.

The injection itself takes only 15-30 minutes, but you should also take into consideration some time to discuss your wishes with your doctor.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance found naturally in the body that moisturises the skin and gives volume to it. Natural hyaluronic acid is broken down by the body after one or two days and is replaced constantly. As we age this replacement mechanism diminishes. Hyaluronic acid is used for aesthetic treatments, but also for injection in arthritic joints in order to stimulate movement and for eye surgery.

We advice you not to take any aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (unless you are taking for a chronic disease) a few days prior to the treatment. By not taking these drugs, you can reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding at the area of the injection. If you have any questions, please ask your doctor.

why Injectables

Although we like to argue the opposite, it is scientifically proven that appearance affects private life and carrière. Our brain registers a face in a fraction of a second. Mouth and eyes are in focus: natural folds over time can generate a permanently tired impression, angry look or sour appeal. With clothes, hairstyle and make-up you can achieve a lot, but then it stops. That is frustrating. We want to help with that last step. Minimally invasive cosmetic procedures with little downtime such as injectables are easy and effective treatments for various aesthetic concerns.

The social acceptability of cosmetic procedures and increased awareness of its safety, when done by professionals, has made it easier also for men to use aesthetic medicine. The industry has been around for quite a while but in fact it has largely ignored men and also the media tends to produce sensationalising headlines when speaking about botox, fillers and appearance treatment. Yes, we know appearance treatments easily creates opinions, we like to welcome an open discussion about the attitudes towards aesthetic medicine.

As professionals and legitime doctors we have a clear picture on how we can help and tell you when and how minimally invasive injection treatments can be done. As procedures have developed and people are more open about their facials and share their experiences via social media we will see even more open attitudes for aesthetic medicine.

The loss of skin elasticity, collagen deposits and shrinking bone structure is part of the general ageing process. It is difficult even impossible to prevent but with aesthetic medicine it can be maintained and slowed down. As the life expectancy is rising the value of a youthful and social life during older ages may include the desire for a youthful look.
